Grocery shopping was grand today. It's great to spend less than you anticipate. I bought a small loaf of bread though and it's sure to go bad before I work up the gumption to eat it. No way I'm freezing it.
I can't wait to have keys again. Mostly because then I can put this CWU bottle opener on the keyring. Well really mostly because then I'll have a car and a house to unlock again.
So this is the terrible practicing cycle. Yesterday I felt pretty good about it--didn't sound as bad as I thought, optimistic, productive, all that. Sometimes that feeling lasts for a while, but today it was just instant depression. And I'm not going to practice tomorrow 'cause I'm not going to be here, and on Sunday I'm going to look the case in the hinges for a while before just saying fuck it, it's a lost cause.
The real downer of the day: I read an article for Sociology about why men commit suicide. Okay really it was about the ways the different genders reveal emotion. I feel like it was all a load of crap though.
"Relatively little is known about male emotion, as it is not a well researched area, but an implication from existing studies is that male and female emotions may not be so distinct."
Seriously people? Do researchers not have friends? Does everything have to be discovered in a lab room or through contrived interviews with a hypothesis in mind? In my experience guys are much more ready to spill all their problems. Maybe it's just me though.
I think it's very healthy to spend time alone. You need to know how to be alone and not be defined by another person. -Oscar Wilde
Lynds remember i said i hated Sociology because it was so relative. No textbook nor professor on the planet knows the answer as to what makes an individual tick. So much to consider...what one goes through growing up and how it's percieved even. Some people have a strong constitution and bad shit that happens to them haunts them forever while others sweep the bad shit under the carpet and move on. Even though it's under there and they know it, and they may even revisit it but it dosn't guide their lives. I asked the "computer" what relativity means and i got this...
ReplyDelete'Great question. It has to do with the context of the subject being discussed as it is applied to a certain place at a certain time. When you apply Socrates' method for attempting to gain insight into various issues by asking questions such as "What is beauty?", "What is evil?", "What is love?", etc., you discover that there is no one definitive or conclusive answer since the collective mind set or cultural conditioning of individuals varies from place to place. Fat is beautiful in Africa but not so in Europe...for the time being. It is subject to change as modes of thinking change. So forth and so on, ad infinitum'---Anyhoo, Most people know that the one laying on the couch spilling their guts each week has less problems than the one taking notes behind the desk. I believe trying to make sence of this 'load of crap' can make you hella crazy sometimes. Just pass the class!!
I meant a WEAK constitution^
